Being Montevideo and Punta del Este temporary ports, they are starting to become base ports. There are various reasons for tourists choosing these places. Security, one of the most important ones, its performed by the Coast Guard and the Touristic Police. The cordiality of its citizens, always welcoming tourists, is a very appreciated characteristic, as well as the money exchange access, variety for shopping, and excelent gastronomy.

Montevideo is an integral port for ships and tourists, providing services and quality to its visitors. From it, tourists can enjoy the city in just 15 minutes.

Inside the port there is a Tourist Information office (Spanish, English and Portuguese spoken) where all kind of services are proivided: free high speed internet conection, telephone and fax services, mobile phone and cameras renting, reserve central, national products store and banking services.

All these services are coordinated by port autorities and the Tourism Secretary, who control a limited access for improved security.

Near the most touristic city of the country, and the most select south american seaside resort, Punta del Este port is the entry to a charming coast with 70 kilometers of beaches. Fancy hotels, restaurants and first classs stores are found in a lovely environment with beatutiful landscapes, peacefulness and security.
