Florida is a land marked by history and tradition. It was here, no less, that the birth of the nation took place with the Declaration of Independence in 1825.
Florida is also the National Sanctuary of the Lady of the Thirty Three Orientals, Patroness of Uruguay and Saint Conus, with a devout pilgrimage. Florida has details of the work of the French landscape architect Carlos Racine reflected in every piece of architecture, in the dozens of monuments throughout the urban area, the allegories of its cathedral and the magnificent landscape of the Prado Piedra Alta.
The moons of José Cúneo are today remembered and honored in the town center, the bandoleon music of Ulises Pasarella and Néstor Vaz, the constructivist paintings of Mario Giacoya and the letters of Mario Delgado Aparain, among other exponents of the arts and letters, are just some of the hundreds of attractions that Florida has to offer. We invite you to discover them for yourself.

Located in the hills of Cuchilla Grande, 252 km from Montevideo along Route 7, Cerro Chato is a town that is noteworthy for being located in three departments: Treinta y Tres, Durazno and Florida. It has the distinction of being the first place in the country where women exercised the right to vote.
Just 2 kilometers from the town, the Municipality of Treinta y Tres has set up a beautiful excursion which attracts a large number of tourists, called the Salto de Agua.
It covers a recreational area characterized by three beautiful natural pools. These are fed by cascading water which runs from a considerable slope into bedrock pools before continuing its natural course.
